Saturday Aug 20th 2022 Jennifer Lopez said “I do” to Ben Affleck. The couple celebrated their second marriage in front of family and friends at Affleck’s estate in Riceboro, Georgia, on the Hampton Island preserve outside of Savannah.
For her wedding looks, the bride chose three custom Ralph Lauren gowns. But planning this wedding was no easy task. From the venue to the flowers, every detail had to be perfect. Let’s take a sneak peek.
JENNIFER LOPEZ’S VEIL
Jennifer Lopez wore a white veil and frosty pink makeup as she had her hair pulled back in a sleek bun. She accessorized with diamond and pearl earrings and had white frilly material around her neck.
THE FIRST JENNIFER LOPEZ’S CEREMONY GOWN
The first dress she wore during the ceremony was from Ralph Lauren, and it was only the first of three dresses from the designer that she would wear during the evening. The groom looked impeccable in a classic Ralph Lauren Couture white tuxedo jacket, black trousers, and a black bow tie. All five of their children were also in Ralph Lauren looks.
Jennifer’s first ceremony gown was made from more than 1,000 handkerchiefs and 500 meters of fabric. It was a real labor of love, and it showed in the final product. The gown was absolutely beautiful, and it was clear that a lot of time and effort had gone into making this dress.
This wedding gown was estimated to cost around $1 million. It was made of ivory silk taffeta and featured a hand-embroidered and beaded bodice, a 20 foot train, and a veil. The dress took over 700 hours to create and was truly a one-of-a-kind piece. The bride accessorized with pearl and diamonds earrings, which completed the look. She also wore a cathedral-length veil.
THE SECOND JENNIFER LOPEZ’S CEREMONY GOWN
Her second choice of gown for the evening was adorned with cascading strings of pearls sewn onto the fabric, with Swarovski crystal detailing. The design of the dress was sleeveless and had a mermaid-like finish. Sitting on a swing, she showed it off and added strappy heels with pearls. This exquisite couture dress was entirely handmade, and it is estimated to be worth $1-2 million.
THE THIRD JENNIFER LOPEZ’S CEREMONY GOWN
The third gown was a mermaid silhouette with a keyhole neckline adorned with Swarovski crystals. The plunging cream colored halter gown had Swarovski crystals up the front lining of the keyhole. It was likely to have cost around $1 million.
WHY JENNIFER LOPEZ’S CEREMONY GOWNS ARE SO EXPENSIVE?
The three gowns were designed by American Ralph Lauren and, as couture gowns, cost an estimated $1million each. However, couture wedding gowns can cost $55,000 to $5million. Lauren’s gowns cost more because they are handmade with the finest materials and the style includes pearl work and crystals.

A DREAM WEDDING IN A DREAM VENUE
Jennifer and Ben tied the knot at his beautiful Georgian estate on Hampton Island.
The theme of the wedding was “Old Hollywood” and all guests were prayed to follow a complete-white dress code. Both their mothers Guadalupe and Chris, her sister Lynda and his best pals Matt Damon and Kevin Smith were there.
The ceremony lasted 45 minutes. It took place under inside a white small church, decorated with delphiniums provided by a local florist. After the ceremony, there was a cocktail reception in the home.
Next, the guests enjoyed dinner in the barn; the food was created by a local chef. The wedding cake was from Minette Rushing Custom Cakes. The music was from DJ Dubz. Great fireworks lit up the sky over the lake at night and ended the wedding party.
PLANNING A LARGE, LUXURY WEDDING
But dresses, location, reception, decoration, ceremony, dinner, fireworks weren’t the only things for a wedding planner to manage. The “Bennifer wedding” has been a large event that involved months of preparation and organization, including installing dancefloors and shipping in glassware, linens and furniture.
Security was tight around Affleck’s sprawling country estate, and large security gates were installed a few weeks before the wedding date.
Wedding bells were also set up ahead of the evening nuptials. Low flying aircraft, like drones and helicopters, have been warned by organizers and authorities to stay away from the event due to the large fireworks show that will close out the evening.
Last minute supplies were still arriving Saturday morning with catering trucks and musical equipment. Meanwhile, the river onto which the property backs has been patrolled by security boats.
